| TANNER is a seven month old shepherd mix who was rescued from the Riverside Animal Shelter. Our volunteer, Heidi, went to pick up another pup but she also fell in love with this one. Tanner pressed himself against his cage and wiggled himself into Heidi's heart. She called me and said, "There is the sweetest, wiggly puppy here and I am afraid his time may be up." Well what does any self-respecting rescuer say in response -- "OKAY GET THE SWEET BOY OUT!" So there yhou go -- he is at my house. AND HE IS ONE NICE LITTLE GUY. He is pretty brindle color with a white chest and he has very cute half up and half down ears which fall forward (very expressive ears!!) His coat is also extremely soft and does not appear to take much time or effort to groom. As a puppy, he does exhibit some "irrepressible" puppy energy --BUT, he is also a contemplative guy, who likes to sit by the window and calmly watch the world go by. HE'S GREAT WITH CATS!...DOGS AND KIDS! When he lies down, he crosses his front two legs very attractively. We think he may be tall someday -- but we do not believe he will be heavy. He is thin and lithe and graceful (perhaps some greyhound mixed in?) |
